Kayla Hankins

Born and raised in Scottsdale, Arizona, she started cycling with a local club when she was 8 years old. There was no track in Arizona, so Kayla trained on local streets and in empty parking lots until moving to Los Angeles in 2021 to pursue an education at UCLA and train full-time with the USA Cycling Sprint Team, focusing on the Team Sprint, Sprint, and Keirin events.

Since then, she has represented Team USA at three Elite World Championships and is a 2023 Pan Am Games Silver Medalist, four-time Pan American Championship medalist, and Team Sprint national record holder. Beyond cycling, she is passionate about international relations, connecting with friends and family, and enjoying the outdoors. While not training or racing, she spends much of her time working with a local nonprofit to coordinate bike lane clean-up events around LA County.
