ABOUT THE PROGRAM

The mission of the USA Cycling Collegiate program is to provide opportunities for team-oriented bicycle racing for student cyclists of all genders and abilities.

The program has the following key objectives:

  • To provide new riders with a welcoming introduction to collegiate cycling – both riding and racing;
  • To enable elite riders the option to pursue higher education while benefiting from development opportunities that integrate with amateur and professional teams and national development programs;
  • To creating personal growth and leadership development opportunities for scholar athletes both on and off the bike; and
  • To ensure that the sport is low cost and accessible to any student who wants to participate.

Collegiate Conferences

The Backbone of collegiate racing

Collegiate cycling is organized into eleven geographic conferences, each of which organizes local racing seasons, manages results and rankings, and makes collegiate cycling happen on the ground.

Club Programs

Student driven racing

Club programs are the history and core of collegiate cycling. Over 200 schools participate in the collegiate cycling club program, many of which are considered premier programs with history going back over 50 years.

Varsity Programs

pro-level support for student athletes

Teams that receive extra support from the school and in some cases, offer scholarships, are recognized as varsity program. Varsity cycling teams continue to provide extra support to student-athletes.
