Adamski and Sarkisov Earn the Junior Road Race National Titles at the 2025 Pro Road National Championships

By: USA Cycling Communications  May 25, 2025

Charleston served up another thrilling day of racing on the penultimate day of the Pro Road National Championships.

On day seven of the 2025 USA Cycling Pro Road National Championships, fans lined the course to watch the junior men and women take on their road races. Facing West Virginia’s demanding hills, both fields tackled a modified circuit where the punishing Wertz Avenue climb proved to be decisive. Each lap was 14.5 kilometers, with the junior men completing six laps for a total of 87 kilometers, and the junior women racing four laps for 58 kilometers.

Junior Men

Eighty-two junior men lined up on a brisk morning in Charleston, ready to take on six grueling laps up the Wertz Avenue climb. The peloton stayed intact through most of the first lap, but by the end, a breakaway had formed featuring Brady Hogue (Vail, Ariz.; EF Education-ONTO), Parker Bohne (Vail, Ariz.; Landis Cyclery/Trek), and Kash Adamski (Bloomfield Hills, Mich.; Hot Tubes Development Cycling Team). The trio managed to hold off the chasing pack for the majority of the race. On the fifth lap, Adamski attacked on the climb, dropping Bohne and powering on with Hogue. The two dug deep, knowing that Ashlin Barry (Toronto, Ont.; JEGG-SKIL-DJR powered by Visma Lease-a-Bike) was charging hard from behind to bridge the gap. As the leaders approached the finish, Adamski powered around the final corner. It came down to a dramatic sprint between him and Hogue, but Adamski pulled ahead to claim the National Title. Hogue took second, with Barry rounding out the podium in third.

After the race, Adamski said, “I went from lap one and got a small gap with two of my great friends. We ended up rolling it. We had at least two minutes at one point, then we saw Ashlin [Barry] coming across and I attacked at the top of the hill and dropped one rider. Then Brady [Hogue] and I just rode to the line, and I got him in the end.”

Junior Women

After a short break in the late morning, the junior women lined up to tackle 58 kilometers, four laps on the short course. The field stayed together until lap two, when Alexis Jaramillo (Monument, Colo.; Sonic Boom Racing) launched an attack heading up Wertz Avenue. Her move thinned the pack, with several riders dropping off the back. By the time the bell rang for the final lap, five riders remained at the front. The group stayed intact to the line, where Alyssa Sarkisov powered through in the sprint to take the win. Jaramillo secured second and Bridgett Ciambotti (Lakewood, Calif.; TWENTY28 Aevolo) rounded out the podium in third.

“It was an amazing race. I am so happy to defend this one. I have been nervous for this for a while. I am just so grateful for my teammates. They sacrificed their race to put me on the top spot today and on Thursday during the Crit. I am just so thankful for them... I am so excited to be repping the Stars and Stripes for another year,” said Sarkisov after winning her second jersey of the week, and second Junior 17-18 Road Race National Title of her career.
