The Individual Time Trial events wrapped up today at the 2025 UCI Road World Championships in Kigali, Rwanda. Yesterday featured the U23 Men’s and Women’s races against the clock, while today the spotlight was on the Juniors where Ashlin Barry (Toronto, Ont.; JEGG - SKIL - DJR) and Beckam Drake (Amarillo, Tex.; Hill’s Sport Shop) delivered top-five finishes in the Junior Men’s event.

Junior Men’s Time Trial

Ashlin Barry (Toronto, Ont.; JEGG - SKIL - DJR) came into this year’s race hungry for a podium after finishing ninth in the same event last year. For Beckam Drake (Amarillo, Tex.; Hill’s Sport Shop), it was his first World Championships where he had nothing to lose, and everything to gain.

Drake delivered a fearless ride, clocking the fastest splits across the 22.6-kilometer course and storming into the hot seat by more than 30 seconds. He held onto the lead until eventual bronze medalist Seff van Kerckhove (BEL) edged him out by just five seconds. Michiel Mouris (NED) then raised the bar with a blistering 29:01.61, setting a new mark to beat. That left the spotlight on Barry, who powered through with a determined ride to take over second place.

With only six riders remaining, the Americans looked poised for a strong finish. As the race concluded, Barry secured silver and Drake claimed an impressive fourth in his World Championships debut.
