Jimenez Palos stayed in contention for the rainbow stripes after a strong day of racing.

On the third day of racing at the 2026 UCI Junior Track World Championships, Emma Jimenez Palos (Miami, Fla.; City Bikes Miami Racing) returned to the track for the Junior Women’s Omnium. Following her Scratch Race World Championship title on Wednesday, Jimenez Palos was looking to add another medal to her collection in the four-race event.

The day opened with the Scratch Race, where Jimenez Palos finished fourth to put herself in a strong position heading into the next three events. In the Tempo Race, she made her move alongside Britt Jeucken (NED), lapping the field together and securing the top two spots, with Jimenez Palos finishing second.

In the Elimination Race, Jimenez Palos continued to ride smart and consistent, finishing fifth. The result kept her at the top of the overall standings heading into the final race of the day.

With points from the first three races carrying into the Points Race, the battle for the Omnium title was wide open. Jimenez Palos entered the final event tied for the lead with Agata Campana (ITA), both holding 104 points. Anna Meeusen (BEL) and Zoe Bihan (FRA) were close behind, tied for third with 100 points each, setting up a four-rider fight for the title in the final race.

The Points Race covered 60 laps with six sprints, and Jimenez Palos continued to ride strong. She scored a point in the second sprint to move ahead of Campana, then extended her advantage with three more points in the fourth sprint. The race took another turn when Angelina Novolodskaya (AIN) and Phoebe Taylor (GBR) lapped the field, moving Novolodskaya into the lead with the points she had accumulated earlier in the race. Jimenez Palos stayed in the fight, adding two more points in the fifth sprint to remain in podium position. Heading into the final sprint, just two points separated Novolodskaya and Jimenez Palos. Neither rider was able to score in the final sprint, securing silver for Jimenez Palos and adding another World Championship medal to her impressive haul.

Tomorrow, Jimenez Palos is back on the track for the Individual Pursuit, with Rue Tomko (Bellevue, Wash.; Jerry Baker Juniors) will be racing the Points Race.
