Norman, Brown, and Jones Podium in Time Trials at 2025 UCI Paracycling Road World Championships
On day two of the 2025 UCI Paracycling Road World Championships , Grace Norman (Jamestown, Ohio), Clara Brown (Falmouth, Maine), and Allison Jones (Colorado Springs, Colo.) scored podium finishes in Ronse. The rain continued making the course even more technical. All of the American riders competed over the same distance today: a two-lap, 23.2-kilometer Time Trial.
Elouan Gardon (Acme, Wash.) was the first rider on course this morning for Team USA. He started strong and was just seconds off the leader through the first lap. After a crash on lap two forced a bike change, he battled on his road bike to finish 10th.
“I went really well, and I felt really good. The team had a great environment, and really supported me out there,” said Gardon. “On the second lap, unfortunately I hit a little rock and crashed in one of the roundabouts and had to swap to the road bike. I still managed to finish, but it was definitely disappointing.”

Allison Jones (Colorado Springs, Colo.) rode a strong, consistent race in the WC2 Time Trial, holding third at every split to secure the bronze medal.
“We had rain all day, which made the course slick and tricky, especially through the corners with all the unknown conditions,” said Jones, “I’m absolutely stoked to be on the podium!”

Clara Brown (Falmouth, Maine) battled through a flat tire to claim the bronze medal in the WC3 Time Trial. She led at multiple splits before losing time to a worsening flat, ultimately requiring a wheel change well into her second lap. That didn’t stop her, and she still powered her way to the podium.
Brown said, “I rode incredibly hard, and I'm really proud to have pulled back to end up on the podium. Bad luck, as you say, but that’s racing. I have another day on Sunday to see how the legs are.”
Rain made conditions tricky early on, but Brown adapted quickly: “The first lap, I was definitely a bit cautious. It dried up pretty quickly and I felt like I could rip the corners just fine during the second lap. So rainy conditions to start, and then the course evolved, and I was able to kind of get in a groove.”
Jamie Whitmore (Somerset, Calif.) also looked strong, finishing fourth despite a crash. “I executed everything perfectly except the crash,” she said. “Even with that, I had a phenomenal race.”

Team USA had a strong showing in the WC4 Time Trial, led by Grace Norman (Jamestown, Ohio) who surged from fourth early on to claim the silver medal. Samantha Bosco (Claremont, Calif.) was in podium position for much of the race but narrowly missed a medal, finishing fourth by just over a second. Andrea Cherniak-Tyson (Goshen, Ind.) rode consistently to take seventh.
After the race, Norman said, “It’s so exciting and honestly kind of unexpected—this is my first cycling season. I’m overjoyed with silver and it gives me a lot of confidence heading into Sunday’s road race."
