Team USA Recap: Success at Tour of Poland Women; Pinkerton, Skelton, Ostgaard, and Burleson Win DH National Titles
ROAD
Tour de France
(July 4-26) – After three and a half weeks of racing that started in Barcelona and ended in Paris, five Americans completed the Tour de France, with Sepp Kuss (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) earning the top spot among the group, placing 13th overall. Quinn Simmons (Lidl-Trek) placed 18th and for the second year in a row, the road race national champion earned the Best Teammate award, animating stage after stage.
Sean Quinn (EF Education-EasyPost) placed 19th, first-timer Matthew Riccitello(Decathlon CMA CGM) placed 24th, and Matteo Jorgenson (Team Visma | Lease a Bike) was 30th. Brandon McNulty (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) fell victim to illness and dropped out after 17 stages.
Simmons and Riccitello also placed 6th and 7th in the Youth category, and Kuss earned 4th in King of the Mountains.

Tour de Pologne Women: Poland
(July 24-26) – The U.S. Women’s National Team raced at the three-day Tour of Poland, which started in Tomaszów Lubelski-Zamosc and ended in Lublin. Alyssa Sarkisov, Ella Sabo, Katherine Sarkisov, Grace Arlandson, Mia Aseltine and Lidia Cusack rode impressively against the world’s top women pros at the stage race, which was dominated by the Netherlands’ Lorena Wiebes (Team SD Worx) who soon after wore the yellow jersey at the start of the Tour de France Femmes. Highlights included 6th and 9th place finishes on the 138-kilometer Stage 1 by sisters Alyssa and Katherine Sarkisov. Alyssa was the top-placing American on GC, in 22nd place.

Tour de France Femmes: France
(August 1-9) – Five American women are competing at this year’s Tour de France Femmes, which started in Lausanne, Switzerland and ends on Sunday in Nice, France.
Kristen Faulkner (EF Education-Oatly), Heidi Franz (St Michel-Preference Home-Auber93), Natalie Quinn (Mayenne Monbana My Pie), Lily Williams (Human Powered Health) and Caroline Wreszin (St Michel-Preference Home-Auber93) were at the start line in Lausanne.
Highlights so far include a 6th place finish on the Stage 4 time trial for Olympic road race champion Kristen Faulkner.

Chicago Grit, American Criterium Cup: Chicago
(July 26) – Chicago was the site for race number 4 of the American Criterium Cup. Chicago Grit included 10 days of criterium racing throughout the Chicago area and culminated in the Fulton Market Grand Prix, with Skylar Schneider (L39ION of Los Angeles) winning the pro/1-2 women’s race and Lucas Bourgoyne (Team Cadence Cyclery p/b Waldo Racing) taking the pro/1-2 men’s win.
Kendall Ryan (Caldera Medical x Aurea Racing), Paula Munoz (Fearless Femme p/b The Beasley Firm), Aline Seitz (HigherDOSE/Renova) and Andrea Cyr (HigherDOSE/Renova) placed 2nd-5th behind Schneider.
Jim Brown (L39ION of Los Angeles), Sebastian Brenes Mata (Good Guys Racing NYC), Justin Williams (L39ION of Los Angeles), and Dylan Haynes (Boulder Junior Cycling) placed 2nd- 5th in the men’s race.
With her second win in a row, Schneider extends her overall series lead by 30 points. Justin Williams leads Bourgoyne by two points in the men’s overall standings.
Next up in the series is the Salt Lake Criterium, August 15-16, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Grand River Shootout: Grand Rapids, Michigan
(August 1-2) – Grand River Shootout hosted the eighth stop of the USA Cycling Paracycling Road National Series. Paracyclists (women and men’s H3-H5) as well as juniors, elite, age-group and Master’s men and women took on the Ionia Grand Prix on Saturday and Gaslight Criterium on Sunday.
Jo Ann Outten Kenton won the women’s H3-H5 omnium title. Jacie King was 2nd. Casey Falkner (Mary Free Bed Handcyling) won the men’s H3-H5 omnium title. Dan Stietz(Creative Ability Solutions), Steve Chapman (Creative Ability Solutions), Jared Fenstermacher (Team Skyline Cadence) and Yoshinori Tomoyasu (The Bridge Adaptive Sports and Recreation) placed 2nd-5th.

USA Cycling Gravity Mountain Bike National Championships: Snow Summit, Big Bear Lake, California
(July 23-26) – The 2026 USA Cycling Gravity Mountain Bike National Championships and Monster Energy Pro Downhill Series came to Big Bear Mountain Resort for a long weekend of downhill racing for pros, Masters and juniors.
Ryan Pinkerton (Mondraker Factory Racing) and Kailey Skelton (Ari Factory Racing) defended their national titles to remain the elite men’s and women’s downhill champions for another year.
Kai Burleson won the junior men’s title and Aletha Ostgaard (Canyon DH Racing) won the junior women’s crown. Racing with the elite men and women, Burleson placed 14th overall among the elites and Ostgaard recorded the fastest women’s time of the day.
Dylan Maples (Pivot Factory Racing) placed 2nd and Nate Kitchen (Intense Factory Racing) was 3rd behind Pinkerton. Maylei Leaneagh (ZFR Racing Team) and Taylor Ostgaard(Canyon, TLD, SRAM/Rockshox) placed 2nd and 3rd behind Skelton.
Dual Slalom kicked off the first two days of racing. Kyle Strait (Ari Bikes) won the elite men’s title and Jordan Scott (Hyper/ Kenda) won the elite women’s crown. Dante Silva (Intense Racing USA/Monster Army) and Nikolas Nestoroff (Ari Factory Racing) earned silver and bronze behind Strait. Sophie Allen (Kona Bikes) and Alyana Van Horn (Specialized/ TRP) took silver and bronze behind Scott.

TRACK
USA Cycling Junior Track National Championships: Breinigsville, Pennsylvania
(July 23-26) – Forty national titles were awarded over four days of racing at the 2026 USA Cycling Junior Track National Championships, held at Valley Preferred Cycling Center.
Juniors from around the country competed in Omnium, Sprint, Individual Pursuit, Time Trial, Scratch Race, Points Race, Pursuit, Keirin, Elimination, 11-16 Omnium, Team Sprint and Team Pursuit events.
Rue Tomko (Jerry Baker Juniors) won the Women’s 17-18 Omnium and Kashus Adamski(Hot Tubes Development Cycling Team) won the Men’s 17-18 Omnium.
Lily Nguyen (Star Track) and Akira Edmonds (Dave Jordan Juniors) earned silver and bronze behind Tomko. Matthew Crabbe (Hot Tubes Development Cycling Team) earned silver, coming in one point behind Adamski, and Gregory Debenedetti (Project SuperTraining p/b Vafels) earned bronze.

GRAVEL
Dust Bowl 100: Eminence, Indiana
(July 25) – Dust Bowl 100 served as stop number 8 in the USA Cycling Junior Gravel National Series. Elite, age group and junior athletes took on Indiana’s farm roads, rolling hills and bridge crossings in 100-mile, 100-kilometer, and 44-mile routes.
Robert Oehler won the elite men’s 100-mile race, coming across the line alone in 4:11:27. Evan Boyle came in nine seconds later for 2nd and Derek Dotlich placed 3rd, in 4:14:13.
Samantha Johnson won the elite women’s 100-mile race in 5:12:18, coming in three seconds ahead of Mairen Lawson and Peta Mullens, who placed 2nd and 3rd.
Juniors also took on the 100-mile course, with Carter Lembke winning the men’s 17-18 race in a two-up sprint finish in 4:44:23. Jake Mercado, Ren Huston, Cooper Johnson and Evan Halbleib placed 2nd-5th.
Jonathan Clark won the men’s 15-16 race in 5:26:49. Bradley Knapp and Elijah Tabbplaced 2nd and 3rd.
Sarah Black won the women’s 17-18 race in 5:08:28. Avery Fortenberry placed 2nd and Evangeline Fortenberry placed 3rd overall and 1st in the 15-16 category.
