UCI MTB World Cup: Nové Město na Moravě, Czechia

(May 23-25) – The third round of the XCO Mountain Bike World Cup was on one of the most challenging curses in the circuit. The action kicked off with the XCC, where Christopher Blevins(Specialized Factory Racing) went 3-for-3 despite dropping a chain with just 90 seconds to go. Makenna Kellerman also had a breakthrough ride, earning a career-best 6th place in the U23 Women’s XCC. And the momentum didn’t stop there. Blevins continued his incredible run by claiming his second XCO victory of the year, holding onto the leader’s jersey.

“It’s been a big year for me, both on and off the bike,” he shared. “Nové Město means so much to me; it means so much to mountain biking. I came here for my first World Championships when I was 17. I’ve cried in the woods as a U23 after tough races. I qualified for the Olympics here in my first year racing Elite. So there have been a lot of ups and downs, and that’s what makes this so special.”

Team USA showed depth across the board, with Haley Batten (Specialized Factory Racing) finishing 7th in the Elite Women’s XCO, Brayden Johnson and Dan English (Trinity Racing) taking 7th and 8th in U23 Men, and Vida Lopez de San Roman and Makenna Kellerman placing 4th and 10th in U23 Women. In the Junior Men’s race, Kian Reid earned a podium finish in 3rd, with River Valdezclose behind in 9th.
