USA Cycling Announces Team for 2026 UCI Para-Cycling Road World Championships in Huntsville
The 2026 UCI Para-Cycling Road World Championships will debut in Huntsville, Alabama on September 4-7, 2026, bringing together athletes from around the globe to compete for world titles. While Huntsville successfully hosted a UCI Para-cycling Road World Cup in 2023, this will mark the city’s first time hosting a UCI World Championship event.
USA Cycling will field a team of 28 athletes, 9 women and 19 men, across all sport classes, including Handcycle (H1-5), Tricycle (T1-2), Cycle (C1-5), and Tandem (B1-3). The roster was selected based on standout performances throughout the season, including results from the UCI Para-Cycling Road World Cups and the USA Cycling Para-Cycling Road National Championships.
Leading Team USA are World Cup Overall Champions Samantha Bosco (Claremont, Calif.), Jenna Rollman (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif.), and Dennis Connors (Beaverton, Ore.), each looking to add a world title and rainbow jersey to their already impressive resumes for the year. Reigning C3 Road Race World Champion Clara Brown (Falmouth, Maine) will also return to defend her title.
Seven athletes are set to make their UCI Para-Cycling Road World Championships debut after impressive performances this season: Jeremy Van Tress (Herriman, Utah), Nicholas McCoy (Boerne, Texas), Owen Cravens (Caver Creek, Ariz.) piloted by William Seitz, Grant Simonds (Salt Lake City, Utah), Ryan Jastrab (Apple Valley, Calif.), Justin Mathers (Fayetteville, N.C.), and 16-year-old Broden Ala (Vail, Ariz.).
“To compete for world titles and rainbow bands on home soil is a rare and special opportunity. We know the energy and support from the Huntsville community will provide an incredible backdrop for our athletes as they take on the world's best,” said Chris Furber, USA Cycling’s Senior Director of Paracycling. “Personally, I am honored and excited to be leading Team USA at my first World Championships with USA Cycling. This team embodies the ambition, resilience and excellence that define our program, and we can't wait to see what they can achieve this September.”
