Jamie is one of Team USA’s most decorated para-cyclists, with a journey that has inspired athletes around the world. A lifelong competitor, Jamie began as a swimmer and later excelled in track and field, earning a scholarship to California State University, Northridge. After college, she started triathlons and quickly made a name for herself in XTERRA off-road events, winning 37 races, six national titles, and one world title, making her one of the most successful female athletes in XTERRA history.
In 2008, Jamie’s athletic career took a turn when she was diagnosed with spindle cell sarcoma. After surgeries, treatment, and relearning how to walk, she returned to elite sport as a para-cyclist. Now, she’s a 3-time Paralympian and 2-time Paralympic medalist with a gold and silver from Rio 2016. She continues to compete at the highest level, earning 24 world championship medals, including 11 golds. At the Paris 2024 Paralympics, she finished 5th in the C1-3 Road Race and 11th in the Time Trial, adding to her impressive legacy.
