(May 9-11) – Junior, U23, and Elite BMX racers gathered at Tulsa’s Hardesty National BMX Stadium for this year’s National Championships, also known as the home of USA Cycling’s BMX Racing National Team.
Cameron Wood (Mongoose Bikes) and Payton Ridenour captured their first Elite National Titles, while two-time junior national champion Ethan Popovich (Huffy Bicycles) and former junior national champion Ava Corley (Factory Rift/Tangent) took top honors in the U23 category. Evan Esposito (Albe’s/Syndyt/Box) and Derin Merten (Race Inc.) claimed the junior men’s and women’s titles.

(May 1) – Neilson Powless (EF Education-EasyPost) placed 4th overall at Eschborn-Frankfurt. The nearly 200 kilometer road race finished with a group of 30 riders sprinting for the line. Michael Matthews (Team Jayco-AlUla) took the win, with Powless just missing out on a podium spot.

(May 2-4) – Hundreds of collegiate road cyclists vied for national titles in the time trial, criterium, and road races over three days of racing in Madison and Waterloo, Wisconsin.
University of Colorado, Boulder won the Club Omnium title, followed by Colorado State University and University of Arizona in 2nd and 3rd. Colorado Mesa University won the Varsity Omnium title, with Marian University taking 2nd and Milligan University 3rd.
Individual Omnium titles were earned by Kaia Schmid (University of Colorado, Boulder) for Club Women, and Nathan Cusack (UVM Cycling) for Club Men. Cassidy Hickey (Colorado Mesa University) earned the Varsity Women’s omnium crown, while Brody McDonald (Milligan University) earned the Varsity Men’s omnium title.

(May 9-June 1) – After four days of racing, starting with the first three stages in Albania, Brandon McNulty (UAE Team Emirates-XRG) is in 4th place overall at this year’s Giro d’Italia. McNulty secured a top-five spot by placing 8th on the Stage 2 time trial, coming in 13 seconds behind the winner, British time trial champion Josh Tarling (INEOS Grenadiers).
Two other Americans are competing at this year’s Giro: Larry Warbasse (Tudor Pro Cycling Team) and Luke Lamperti (Soudal Quick-Step). The race finishes on June 1 in Rome.

(May 2-4) – Stop number four in the eight-race Cross Country MTB National Series took place at Englewood Grass Farm and included short track and XCO racing for age-group and elite athletes.
In Friday’s XCC pro women’s race, Nicole Bradbury (Hockley Valley Resort Armada) placed first, followed by Alice Hoskins (Gravity Collective), Emma Schwab (Cosmic Racing), Bayli McSpadden (Bear National Team) and Sam Paternoster (Broken Spoke Race Team) in 2nd-5th.
On the men’s side, Caleb Swartz (Mondraker/Forward Endurance Coaching) placed 1st, followed by Ivan Sippy (Segment 28), Carson Hampton, Andrew Strohmeyer (CXD Trek Bikes) and Robbie Day (Bear National Team) in 2nd-5th.
Saturday’s XCO racing featured six UCI races. In women’s elite, Alice Hoskins (Gravity Collective) placed 1st, followed by Nicole Bradbury (Hockley Valley Resort Armada), Marie-Fay St-Onge(Stimulus Trek), Bayli McSpadden, and Emma Schwab (Cosmic Racing) in 2nd-5th.
Ivan Sippy (Segment 28) won the elite men’s race, followed by Caleb Swartz (Mondraker/Forward Endurance Coaching), Austin Beard (Segment 28), Carson Hampton, and Robbie Day (Bear National Team).
In the ongoing UCI XCO Junior (17-18) Series, Ingrid McElroy (Bear National Team) took 1st in the junior women’s race, followed by Addisyn Lundberg (Accel Cycling), Sophia Wellmeier (Bear National Team), Katja Opfer (Donovan Racing) and Elisabeth Knight (Rouleur Cycles).
Myles Perry (Rouleur Devo) took 1st in the junior men’s race, followed by Oliver Welcker (Bear National Team), Aidan Vollmuth (Donovan Racing), Henry Schumm (Donovan Racing) and Luke Ozment (Donovan Racing) in 2nd-5th.
Through four events, Ingrid McElroy holds the top overall spot in Junior Women’s 17-18 standings, followed by Rafaelle Carrier (Pivot Cycles-OTE), Estelle Slingsby (Gravity Collective), Sophia Wellmeier, and Landrie Mclain (Bear National Team).
Oliver Welcker is number one overall on the junior men’s side, followed by Rowan Nistal (Team RF Foundations p/b George’s Cycles), Myles Perry, River Valdez (Bear National Team) and Benjamin Bravman (Bear National Team).
Christopher Blevins (Specialized Factory Racing) holds the number one spot in the series for elite men, while Jennifer Jackson (ORBEA Fox Factory Racing) is number one for elite women.

(May 8-11) – Stop number two in USA Cycling’s Downhill National Series hit Mountain Creek Bike Park for a long weekend of pro and amateur downhill racing, with Kailey Skelton (Ari Factory Racing) and Aaron Gwin (Gwin Racing) earning the women’s and men’s elite wins.
In the pro women’s race, Taylor Ostgaard was 2nd, followed by Isabella Naughton (KHS Pro MTB Team), Raina Logar (The Gravity Collective) and Maylei Leaneagh (SBR Racing/Commencal/RKT) in 3rd-5th.
On the pro men’s side, Christopher Grice (Gen-S) was 2nd, followed by Dante Silva (Intense/Monster Army), Cole Suetos (Insta360 ZFR), and Neko Mulally (Frameworks Racing/5DEV).
